FAQ

How long does a full bespoke commission take from first contact to finished piece?

For in-person clients in Nobeoka, the process runs four to six weeks: an initial consultation, a toile fitting two to three weeks later, and a final collection appointment. Remote commissions add about a week for postage each way, so allow six to eight weeks in total. We will give you a specific timeline at the first consultation.

Can I commission a piece if I am not based in Nobeoka?

Yes. Remote commissions are a normal part of how the studio works. We post a measurement guide, you take your measurements at home, and we arrange a video call to go through them together. A toile is then posted to you for a home fitting before the final piece is made. It works well for most designs.

What payment methods do you accept, and when is payment due?

We accept bank transfer and major credit cards. A fifty percent deposit is due at the first appointment or at the start of a remote commission. The remaining balance is due before the finished piece is posted or collected. We do not begin cutting until the deposit is received.

What if the final garment doesn't fit properly?

We include one free alteration within six weeks of collection or delivery. Because we take twelve measurements and make a toile before cutting the final fabric, significant fit issues are rare, but fabric behaves differently from toile and small adjustments do happen. We want the piece to fit correctly and will make it right.

Can I choose my own fabric, or am I limited to what you stock?

You can choose from the fabrics we hold in the studio, which come from Italian mills and are restocked from time to time. If you have a specific fabric in mind that we do not stock, we can discuss sourcing it, though this adds time and may affect the cost. Most clients find what they want in the studio selection.

Do you make swimwear for all body types and sizes?

Yes. Bespoke construction means the pattern is drawn to your measurements, not scaled from a standard size. We have made pieces for clients across several sizes and proportions. The toile fitting stage exists precisely to catch anything the measurements alone do not capture.
